Art Galleries and Museums
You will find a large variety of art galleries in the area sure to please the most discerning collector or novice alike as well as interesting exhibits in our local museums celebrating our maritime heritage and local artists.
For art enthusiasts, there are many annual events--some nationally renowned--to enjoy. From the Waterfowl Festival in November to Plein Air in July and some new smaller festivals such as the Sea Glass Festival held in April, artisans will appreciate these showcase events as they take time to visit local galleries and museums as well.
Typically held the second weekend in November, this is the Eastern Shore`s signature event. This family-friendly weekend includes a variety of activities from art collections, decoy carvings, goose calling contests, wine and food and retriever demonstrations.

Plein Air Easton is the largest and most prestigious juried plein air painting competition in the United States. Plein Air Easton is at the center of the modern plein air movement. The 2018 7th Annual Eastern Shore Sea Glass and Coastal Arts Festival in St. Michaels, Maryland will be hosted by Ophiuroidea held on the weekend of April 7 - 8, 2018.
The second Saturday of each month select galleries in St. Michaels are open to browse as you make your evening plans for dinner. A great way to explore the town and stretch your evening out!
Enjoy an evening in downtown Cambridge strolling the art galleries, browsing a range of artwork, and enjoying free refreshments during the Art Walk, which happens the second Saturday of every month.
Sprinkled among the boutiques and restaurants are a number of antique stores celebrating our maritime heritage and colonial history. A perfect way to while away the day searching for a keepsake treasure!
